Askamum seeks an internet-savvy, parenting genius to produce content for their website

Askamum.co.uk is the website of UK parenting magazines Mother & Baby and Pregnancy & birth, published by Bauer Media. They are looking for a Web Content Producer on a contract basis from February 8th 2010.
The successful candidate will be an experienced web journalist with creative flair, technical aptitude and an eye for detail. Ideally you’ll also have a good knowledge of online magazines and the parenting market.
Key responsibilities of this journalism job
You will be expected to be able to think creatively to come up with new online features ideas/themes to drive traffic, as well as being responsible for ensuring a consistently high standard of copy and distinctive tone of voice through editorial content.
You will need to be able to find ways to drive traffic and cross-promote across the site, in addition to using and interpreting data to understand users’ behaviour and engagement.
You must be happy to liaise with PRs to write product reviews and source competitions, as well as liaising with advertisers to come up with creative digital solutions.
You will also expected plan and write a weekly newsletter.
Key skills required for this journalism job
Experience in uploading video to the web would be useful.
You must have high standard of sub-editing skills, experience in managing online communities, and a good understanding of how SEO and social media applications, including Twitter and Facebook, can be used to boost traffic.
Technical skills required include experience of uploading articles in Content Management System (Episerver), an understanding of how photoshop can be used to manipulate images for the web, a good understanding of Dreamweaver, and a basic understanding of HTML. Knowledge of Google Analytics would also be helpful.
