The snow currently bringing the British South West to a halt, plus the financial concerns affecting many of us is making the prospect of moving overseas increasingly enticing.

As the Bermuda Sun newspaper is currently seeking multi-skilled journalists, the opportunity to do just that may be closer than you realised.

Located on the sub-tropical island, the newspaper has vacancies for two seasoned journalists.

Sub-Editor/Writer

You’ll layout tabloid pages across the paper, edit copy and write for various sections as the need arises. Chiefly a page layout role.

Writer/Sub-Editor

You’ll write business stories and across the paper when required, edit copy and layout pages. Chiefly a business reporting role.

The Bermuda Sun is looking for experienced wordsmiths with solid reporting backgrounds, visual flair and an eye for detail, for their twice-weekly tabloid. You’ll need great clippings and references, fluency in Quark and Photoshop and the personality and know-how to coach reporters. Digital photography skills a big plus.

Minimum requirement is five years’ full-time newspaper experience. It will help if you’re web-savvy, easy to get along with and have bags of energy and initiative. In return, you will benefit from year-round sunshine and competitive, income tax-free salaries.

Email a cover letter and CV to tmcwilliam@bermudasun.bm, including contact details for referees, and prepare yourself for an exciting new challenge in one of the world’s most beautiful countries.

I am so there! See ya later suckers!

Do you have to write in British — like flavour, honour, judgement and endeavour?

Do you mean the spellings, or whether you have to write in a way that’s flavourful, honourable, judgemental and, um, full of endeavour? Sounds very British!
:)
I’m afraid you’ll have to check with the Bermuda Sun for the full details.

That’s my picture they are using…pretty cool!
