Turn your experiences of parenthood into poetry and prose with City Works Press

Parenthood © SXC.hu
While having children can devour all your creativity at times, it can also be a huge source of inspiration. City Works Press is asking you to celebrate the highs and commemorate the lows of parenthood for a new anthology. You’re invited to submit poetry, fiction, prose, and art on the subject of motherhood, fatherhood or both.
Share your moments of sublime joy as well your dark nights of the soul. From conception to birth, the bleak realities of miscarriage to the complex ever-evolving relationship between offspring and parents, to the minutiae of nursing, teaching and childhood games, plus the challenges of adoption, same-sex parenting, high-tech conception, and even the experiences of being childless by choice, City Works Press want to know all about it.
The word limit is 2,500 words for fiction and prose or four poems. Please include a short bio about your writing background.
The deadline is January 4th 2010.
Email your submissions to mammaspappas@gmail.com or send a hard copy to City Works Press, Attn.: Mamas and Papas, San Diego City College, 1313 Park Blvd., San Diego, CA 92101.
