Edge seeks a staff writer to produce reviews, previews and features about computer games

Love computer games and live, or want to live, in the UK’s West Country? Edge magazine is looking for a talented and passionate Staff Writer to join its Bath-based editorial team.
If your application is successful you will write reviews, previews and feature content for Edge magazine and its accompanying website. Liaising with contacts in game publishing and development, you will build industry relationships to explore editorial opportunities and arrange content for all sections of the magazine and website. You will also visit and interview game developers in the UK and overseas, and represent the Edge brand at industry events.
The magazine and website is part of Future Publishing, an international special-interest media company creating over 180 publications, websites and events, with strong portfolios in the technology, games, music, automotive and sports sectors.
Now into its 17th year of publishing, Edge is a multi-format videogame magazine and accompanying website dedicated to passionate, informed gamers and the videogame industry. On October 20th it was awarded Best Games Magazine at the annual Games Media Awards in London.
Key skills required for this editorial job
Passionate about games, you should have a good understanding of the Edge brand and an extensive knowledge of the videogame industry and its history. You will use strong writing skills to create engaging, intelligent and informed copy. Ideally you will have an extensive track record of published work, in print and/or online.
Solid organisation and time management skills are essential, as well as the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines. You will be a confident communicator and be keen to contribute story ideas to the magazine and website.
