If you have a keen eye for detail, have a good grasp of financial issues, and have an interest in the relationship between online and print media, How To Spend could be your dream publication.
The multi-award winning colour supplement of the Financial Times, is seeking a Deputy Editor. To be successful, you must be able to deputise for the Editor on both the magazine and its soon-to-be-launched website. You should already have a proven track record at a managerial level within the luxury magazine market.
There are 28 issues of the magazine planned for 2009 and the job requires not only extensive experience of commissioning and editing features aimed at both men and women across a broad range of subjects across the luxury sector, but also a firm grasp of magazine design, production and budgets.
Original ideas and a fluid, sophisticated writing style are essential, as is the ability to motivate and manage a small in-house team and a large number of freelance contributors. Previous experience of launching or working on a website is desirable but not essential. Enthusiasm for translating How To Spend It online is a must.
