Half the people who live on Kefalonia in summer shut up their tavernas and go home to Athens for the winter! I reckon you might be better off on one of the bigger Spanish islands. Personal favourites of mine have been Paros, Paxos, Folegandros and Symi. My other half is a writer in desperate need of a spring holiday on an island where he can relax and do plenty of writing.
