Hey, just wondered what proved your biggest distraction from writing. Mine are housework (everything in its place, if not, I feel stressed and can't write); reading (I seem to have less and less time to do it!) and Frasier!

Mmn, my distractions are many and varied. I have no problem getting myself to sit down with my laptop, but actually getting on with writing is getting increasingly challenging thanks to yahoo, facebook and twitter... It's amazing how fast time disappears once I get sucked into the online communications vortex!

I get distracted by writing itself - if I need to work on my novel I find myself faffing around with features or my blog, and flitting from one to another without actually finishing anything! Need to learn to focus on one thing at a time!

At the moment, my two-year-old daughter! How does any full-time parent manage to get any writing finished??

I get distracted by Twitter - which I've just discovered.
But generally not enough hours in the day! Even if I'm sitting at my computer and working all day long!

Everything seems like a distraction nowadays. Does everyone else think that the pace of life has become really fast compared to even 10 years ago?
I have the following distractions in an average day:
* Telephone Calls
* Text messages
* Emails
* Making Tea
* Facebook (and organising social life)
* Tidying up/cleaning (when working at home)One of the things that really grates me is the amount of alarms, alerts and notifications we have nowadays - everything's always pinging, buzzing or trying to grab our attention.
I quite like the idea of renting a house somewhere in the outer hebrides and tossing anything that beeps or buzzes in the loch!
