Incisive, witty and so influential they sit on the front row at the shows, GQ’s bloggers provide commentary at the click of a mouse, not just breaking news but making it too.

As always ready for the next big thing, GQ has launched a competition to discover the pre-eminent fashion blogger writing today.

The winner will be given a regular blog spot on top ranking men’s lifestyle site GQ.com as well as the opportunity to take a highly sought-after work experience placement with the online editorial team.

Dylan Jones, Editor of GQ, says: “Fashion bloggers have quickly established themselves as an important element of the fashion industry, as well as a voice for a whole new generation of style aficionados. We’re looking for an opinionated blogger with a strong identity, a digital native with a passion for menswear. Exposure on GQ.COM will ensure the winner’s work is read by a significant audience.”

Entries will be judged by a panel of experts headed by Dylan Jones, and including Associate Editor GQ and Style Shrink Robert Johnston and Channel Manager of Condé Nast Digital Michael Parsons.

How to enter this writing competition

To further your career as a fashion journalist, you need to submit original published and unpublished fashion blogs completed in the past six months.

Entries should be emailed to gqcompetitions@condenast.co.uk headed ‘fashion blog’.

The closing date for entries is February 1st 2010.

The competition is open to all those over the age of 18 on the closing date.

The winning blogger will be notified during the week of February 8th by phone, with their blog going live on GQ.com from the beginning of March.
