Grow Your Own magazine seeks a Deputy Editor

© Manny Proebster
Britain’s best-selling kitchen gardening magazine, Grow Your Own, is looking for a talented Deputy Editor to join their small team.
This role requires an individual with at least two year’s previous experience on a relevant title and, equally as important, someone with a passion for and sound knowledge of fruit and vegetable gardening.
If the smell of damp earth fills you with anticipation, and your talent for producing sparkling, readable magazine copy is rivalled only by your skill for growing spuds, this could be your ideal job.
Key skills required for this journalism job
To be in with a chance you should have excellent subbing, feature writing and proofing skills, along with a proven flair for producing strong, eye-catching designs.
An ability to compose and edit copy quickly, accurately and to house style is essential.
If your application is successful, you will be responsible for helping to produce this busy title by supporting the Editor in commissioning original and inspirational features, writing informative, lively copy, and ensuring that pages are subbed to perfection.
This position is full time and based in the publisher’s offices in Colchester, Essex, so is also ideal if you’re keen to edge away from the frenetic pace of life in London. To get a feel for the publication, please visit www.growfruitandveg.co.uk.
If this job appeals to you, please email your CV and covering letter to the editor, lucy.halsall@aceville.co.uk
