Are you a recent graduate in English Literature, Creative Writing or Journalism? Are you actively looking to find a journalism job or an editorial job? If so, you may be interested in a fantastic opportunity to join a very successful, fast paced and award winning on-line travel company Hostelbookers.com as a Junior Content Assistant, based at their offices in Holborn, central London.
Reporting to the Content Editor you will be responsible for editing and proofing property profiles on the website, improving existing contents and sourcing images for the web site.
Your main responsibilities will include improving content already on website, adding GPS co-ordinates for hostels and new destinations, image sourcing and research for content department, handling addition of translated content to Local Language websites, ensuring consistency on new Local Language websites, and editing and proofing property profiles from new sign ups.
You will also have the opportunity to learn how to create and edit hostel videos.
Ideally, Hostelbookers.com is seeking a recent graduate with a strong interest in travel. Some experience in journalism, publishing and video editing is desirable, however, only limited experience is needed as this is an entry level role.
You must have an excellent level of written and spoken English. A second language such as German, Spanish, French or Italian would be ideal.
The right candidate will also get the chance to be involved in writing.
The position is part of the company’s busy, dynamic E-Commerce department, so you will need excellent communication skills, and an ability to work well with others. Attention to detail is essential, as well as time-management and organisational skills to enable you to meet tight deadlines and manage your workload.
