Music Journalism is one of the hardest genres of the market to get into, but if you live, breathe and exude a passion for music and can transfer that to the page, you’re in with a chance.

Rock Sound Magazine, the UK’s leading alternative music magazine, are currently seeking a Reviews Editor/Staff Writer, and if you know your Slipknot from your Sigur Rós or your Dälek from your Dream Theatre, you might be just the person they’re looking for.

Established in 1999, London-based Rock Sound describes itself as “a completely independent magazine. As a trusted source for information, Rock Sound is put together by music fans for music fans, and that passion and attitude is reflected in our writing.”

Bands that have feature in Rock Sound include My Chemical Romance, Mastodon, Aereogramme, Hell Is For Heroes and Funeral For A Friend.

The ideal candidate will have excellent musical knowledge spanning everything from rock, punk, metal to indie, as well as excellent communication and organisation skills, a degree or equivalent in journalism / media, be web savvy and have the ability to produce excellent written copy to required deadlines.
