Leaf Books invites you to submit poems of up to 35 lines on any subject by July 31st 2009. The independent publishing house is looking for “seriously impressive poetry by new and established authors” so dig out your best unpublished poem and send it their way.

All selected entries will be published in an anthology and the writer of the winning poem will receive £200, a copy of the anthology plus complete collection of pocket-sized Leaf Books.

The runner up will also receive a complete collection of pocket-sized Leaf Books and a copy of the anthology.

The aim of Leaf Books is to provide a showcase for short fiction, micro-fiction and poetry, creating beautiful books which they send off “on pan-galactic adventures to find hands and eyes and internally-resplendent heads to entertain. Leaf Books hopes to make short story writers and poets feel proud and resourceful.”

The winning poem in their previous poetry competition was ‘I Do’ by Eloise Williams.

Submitting your poetry entry

Entering costs £3 per single submission or £10 for four submissions. The deadlines for entries is July 31st.
