Concept For Living Magazine seeks an Editor

Jazz Publishing are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable Editor for Concept For Living, the North of England’s best selling monthly homes and garden magazine.

The magazine has a specific Northern emphasis but covers a vast area from Norfolk up to Northumberland, Cumbria through Cheshire. The office is based in Chester, one of the region’s most attractive historic cities.

For the past ten years Concept For Living magazine has sought out the most exciting interior design projects that the North has to offer, showcased a diverse selection of cutting-edge, design-led products and provided design enthusiasts in the north of England with a creative commentary on the interiors industry. The magazine is jam-packed with readers’ homes and gardens, product features, interviews, profiles and regional design news.

Rebecca Drake, the magazine’s former editor, says: “The driving force behind the title is the passion and enthusiasm that the dedicated team and design-conscious readership share for the Northern interiors scene. Readers buy Concept For Living magazine eager for ideas, advice, product guidance, motivation and encouragement; aspiring to create their own unique home environments.”

Jazz Publishing are looking for a dedicated journalist with at least three years’ experience on a regional or national title who understands the editorial process and is looking for an exciting new challenge. The role will involve writing monthly news and features, sourcing reader homes and exclusive competitions, commissioning copy, flatplanning, editing copy, proofing and signing off the cover and all editorial pages for print. You will also oversee and coordinate the Concept For Living editorial team.

To be successful you will need to be ambitious, highly literate and already possesses a strong knowledge of home design, style and interiors. Being enthusiastic, able to work well under pressure and flexible are three key prerequisites of this job.
