New Scientist, the world’s leading science and technology magazine and website, needs a talented editor to join its award-winning team.
If you’re an accomplished journalist who can write and edit compelling stories and believe you have what it takes to inspire an international team of editors and writers, this could be a great opportunity to become part of a global media brand.
The magazine, published by leading B2B online media and publishing company Reed Business Information (RBI), has recently restructured its newsroom to provide stories for both magazine and web news, and the successful candidate will work across both outlets.
This means you will need to balance the needs of a daily online audience with those of the weekly magazine readership, playing to each service’s strengths. Your key accountabilities will be to find, commission, write and edit compelling news stories about all aspects of science and technology.
Key skills required for this journalism job
This is a job for a creative journalist who can commission, edit and write compelling stories to tight deadlines with the motivation and charisma to inspire others.
Ideally you should have a good degree in some discipline of science, a track record in print and online journalism, and experience of managing reporters.
