Oxfam urges you to give the gift of education this Christmas

Ami Vitale/Oxfam
Oxfam Unwrapped now includes the option to give school children the books they need to continue their education.
For just £8, you can provide eight textbooks in countries where school supplies are scarce, and help children to make the most of their opportunities.
In the financial year 2007-2008, Oxfam Unwrapped provided 2,300 pupils and 60 teachers with textbooks and teaching equipment.
Paul Lotesiro, a teacher from Turkana, Kenya says: “When I arrived, there were no books. The textbooks that Oxfam provided are still used by the children. They’ve made a huge difference to our achievements.”
