Write to Play will present an evening with playwright Rebecca Lenkiewicz on Wednesday April 8th at 9.30pm at Trafalgar Studios.

Write to Play focuses on one prolific playwright bi-monthly, changing venues each time and striving to give audiences the opportunity to engage with playwrights. Previous events have included a discussion with Mark Ravenhill.

This evening is the fourth in the series and will start with a discussion with Rebecca about her work before volunteers read from her new play, never seen or heard in the UK before. The evening will end with a discussion with Rebecca about her themes, styles and methods of writing.

Born in Plymouth and training originally as an actor, Rebecca often focuses on her own experiences in her work, but also revels in exploring and interpreting history.

Her first play was Soho: A Tale of Table Dancers, commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company Fringe in 2000. The play won a Fringe First award at the Edinburgh Festival.

More recent works include Night Season, performed at the National Theatre in 2004, Shoreditch Madonna, performed at the Soho Theatre in 2005, and Her Naked Skin, performed at the National Theatre in 2008.

Tickets cost £5 and can be bought from Trafalgar Studios, tel: 0870 060 6632.
