The week ahead at EssentialWriters.com

This week at EssentialWriters.com is all about opportunities, from calls for submissions to advice on writing the feature pitch that will secure a commission. With school holidays just beginning, the streets and parks will be full of children, so stay home, switch on your computer or grab a notepad and pen and devote some time to writing!
On Monday our job of the week is an Editorial Coordinator role on a leading homes magazine.
On Tuesday I’ll be reviewing the anthology This Road We’re On, while on Wednesday you can find out about a new anthology seeking submissions of true and fictional stories.
Thursday brings news of a festival competition seeking complete mysteries written in just 50 words.
Return on Friday for new contributor Punteha Yazdanian’s tips for producing the perfect feature pitch and gaining freelance journalism commissions.
We’ll end the week with an in-depth chat with Punteha on Saturday, finding out her preoccupations and goals in going freelance just last week.
If you’d like to become an EssentialWriters.com contributor, get in touch. We welcome reviews of books, lit mags, writing courses, and websites, as well as in-depth pieces for the Friday Feature slot.
And if you’re running a writing competition, seeking submissions, organising a literary event, or have a journalism vacancy to fill, please let us know. We’ll be happy to share your news on EssentialWriters.com.
