This week at EssentialWriters.com we’re being inspired by distant worlds, reviewing the latest novel by one of South Africa’s most controversial writers, submitting poetry and creative writing to online journals, considering the potential of fashion blogging and generally aiming high!
Journalist Tom Hill is inviting us to challenge our concept of ourselves as journalists, and we’re exploring an author’s website to deduce its promotional value. Not bad for a week’s work!
On Monday there’s a great opportunity for writers with a background in nutrition, or nutrition experts with a proven talent for writing.
In the afternoon, return to read my interview with Lance Schonberg, the editor of the Distant Worlds and Distant Realms novella anthologies produced by the Library of Science Fiction & Fantasy Press.
On Tuesday you’ll be able to read contributor Emma Bragg’s review of Summertime by J.M. Coetzee.
On Wednesday we’ll post news of a San Francisco-based literary journal seeking submissions of poetry, short stories and non-fiction, offering a great opportunity to promote your work.
If you write a fashion blog, return on Thursday for details of an exciting competition designed to seek the best fashion journalist writing today.
On Friday journalism tutor Tom Hill will be sharing his interpretation of what Entrepreneurial Journalism means, and on Saturday we’ll be analysing the website of Kate Pullinger, author of The Mistress of Nothing, to discover whether she’s the mistress of online presence.
