The Quietroom offices in Clerkenwell

The Quietroom offices in Clerkenwell

Are you a natural communicator? Are you creative, sharp and able to bring ideas to life - on paper as well as on your feet?

At Quietroom we’re looking for someone to join us as a writer, workshop leader and trainer. Initially this would be on a freelance basis, working from our office in Clerkenwell, UK, between two and four days a week.  In the long term we’re hoping you will join us full time.

So if you’re looking for something with more committed  than ‘freelance’, please read on.

Background of this writing job

We help our clients get the best out of the words they use so they can compete for market share, for reputation, for employees, for ownership of ideas, for profit, for longevity.  So we touch many areas of a client’s business.

We teach people to write and speak, whether face-to-face or on the phone.  We write marketing copy, we sometimes make videos. We audit how effective a company’s brand tone of voice is, we develop brand messaging and brand language.  We help companies talk to their customers when things go wrong. We help our clients tell better stories.

A lot of what we do is challenging our clients’ thinking: in what way do their products, services and actions matter to their audience?  What does the audience want to know?  How do they want to be treated?  How are they likely to react?

Responsibilities of this writing job

We need somebody who can collaborate as well as work quickly on their own initiative.  We write some long copy, but we spend a great deal of time analysing words, sometimes painstakingly one at a time - so you need to enjoy that process.

Many of our clients are in financial services, so experience there would be an advantage, but not essential.

How to apply for this writing job

Please email mark@quietroom.co.uk asap with a letter and your CV (in body of email please - no attachments - and don’t worry about formatting).
